| ‘Break’ to benefit from Royal Norfolk Show ball |

Local charity Break will host next year's Royal Norfolk Show ball - hoping to raise £50,000 for its funds, and awareness of its work.
The Sheringham-based organisation, in its 41st year, delivers a range of services from respite holidays for people with learning difficulties to family assessments.
It has been chosen to organise the prestigious black tie event, which last year attracted 900 guests and raised more than £60,000 for another Norfolk charity, You Are Not Alone, which promotes mental health awareness among the local agricultural community.
Break hopes its ball, supported by Anglia Farmers, on Friday June 25, will be equally successful.
“We are absolutely thrilled,” said head of fund-raising, marketing and communications Gilliam Bolam. “It will be hard work organising the catering, entertainment and invitations, but it is great opportunity to raise awareness of our work and funds to provide services.”
Funding was tough in the recession, but Break was still expanding its work - with a family assessment centre recently opened at Lowestoft, and a new short break respite home due to open at King's Lynn in February.
“We rely on the generosity of people making donations,” she added.
Break's work also includes homes for children and young adults, supported holidays and respite care, assessments for families in crisis, mental health services for women, day support services for adults with learning disabilities and mentoring schemes for young people.
Tickets for the ball, which will include a champagne reception, three-course dinner, auction and raffle, and dancing to the Lee Vasey Band, are £55 per person, sold in tables of 10 - £550 per table.
