Anglia Farmers is waving the flag for Norfolk produce by sponsoring two food events.

Continuing its support for the EDP Food Awards, the group is sponsoring the category ‘Plough to Plate Champion’ for the second year running. Now in its ninth year, the EDP Norfolk Food Awards are renowned as the ‘Oscars’ of the local food industry.

One of ten categories, the judges have visited a wide range of food producers to find the ‘Plough to Plate Champion’. The results will be announced at the awards dinner on 21^st September at the start of the Norfolk Food Festival.

Anglia Farmers is also providing sponsorship for ‘The Battle of the Bangers’ – now a firm favourite at the Norfolk Food Festival which runs from 19th September to 4^th October.

The ‘banger’ event takes place in the Forum, Norwich on 3rd October when the public can sample sausages from ten competing butchers and then vote for their favourite. Celebrity chefs will also do a blind tasting. There will be two winners - the best of the public vote and the best from the blind tasting.

Our sponsorship of both the EDP Food Awards and the Norfolk Food Festival raise awareness about the dynamic role farmers play within food production and it shows that farmers understand the importance placed on food provenance.”
