Members of Farmby Limited - a Derbyshire-based buying group - are now sourcing selected inputs and other services through Anglia Farmers.

The group was formed in 1988 and comprises 17 members who farm within a 12-mile radius of Belper in the Derbyshire Peak District. The majority have mixed farms so requirements range from feed and dairy chemicals to fencing and fuel, generating a turnover of just over £2 million a year.

“We are a comparatively small group,” said Farmby chairman Frank White. “In today’s market we needed to increase our buying power and so we have joined Anglia Farmers as a member. Initially we are using them to source agrochemicals, fertiliser and electricity. We anticipate that we will be adding to our shopping list with more inputs such as seeds and perhaps some other ancillary items.”
