With grant aid from Defra, Anglia Woodfuels has acquired a truck-mounted Heizohack HM14-800KL costing just over £238,000.
“The new chipper brings many benefits,” said Alex Morton, commercial projects manager at Anglia Farmers who manages Anglia Woodfuels.
“With this lorry-mounted version, Anglia Woodfuels is able to extend the service to members around the Eastern Region and cover the region much more quickly than with the existing trailer-mounted version. Also the new machine can chip 30 tonnes an hour whereas the old one does about 10 tonnes an hour. And woodland owners will be pleased to know that the new chipper can handle trunk diameters up to 80 centimetres, including hardwoods.”
Both woodchippers are available for hire but only to members of Anglia Woodfuels. The first year’s membership subscription & joining fee is £175 and £75 annual subscription thereafter. Those that would like to be kept informed about Anglia Woodfuels can pay a £25 annual associate subscription. The new woodchipper with contractor costs around £1,100 a day to hire with the capability to chip up to 180 tonnes in 6 hours; days hire.
