Members of the Ridings Machinery Ring (RMR) are being offered additional services through Anglia Farmers.

The group, which has 250 members throughout Yorkshire, was set up in 1993 to minimise costs by sharing labour and machinery resources. Over the years, commodities such as fuel, tyres and wearing parts have been sourced as additional items.

Joe Barrowman, chairman of RMR, said: "Up until now, we have never considered ourselves as a buying group. However, with the enormous rise in demand for cost-effective inputs - particularly in fuel - we have entered an agreement with Anglia Farmers to help fulfill our members' needs for commodities.”

The opportunity to join Anglia Farmers is only available in Yorkshire through RMR as an additional service for those who require it.

“Anglia Farmers is a long-established, purchasing group which has the relevant expertise, size and buying power,” said Mr Barrowman. “We will continue in our own right as a machinery ring. The ‘Ridings Machinery Ring AF Membership’ facility is a natural extension of our business and will be of great advantage to our existing and potential members at this very cost-conscious time.”
