In response to popular demand, there will be a ‘question time’ panel at the next Norfolk Farming Conference allowing delegates to grill industry experts.
Organised by Anglia Farmers and Shaping Norfolk’s Future the conference takes place at the John Innes Centre in Norwich on Wednesday, 25th February 2009 and is sponsored by Brown & Co, Grant Thornton, Birketts LLP and NatWest.
Essex farmer and award-winning journalist Guy Smith, will chair the conference for the second year running.
Based on the theme “Vision for the Future – A New Era?” morning sessions will cover both the arable and livestock sectors. Much of the afternoon will be dedicated to the question panel and delegates will be encouraged to submit questions – via helen.bibby@angliafarmers.co.uk- prior to the event to ensure lively debate.
“To say farmers are not too sure what awaits them around the corner at the moment must qualify as some sort of gross understatement,” said Guy Smith.
“Huge market volatility across the agricultural sector along with the general economy in some sort of tail-spin, suggests there is a lot of risk out there. Equally, there is a sense that there might be opportunities of a lifetime for those brave enough to take them.
“What we need is a bit of vision and looking at the 2009 line up of speakers I can't think of a better selection of individuals to give us just that. I'm also looking forward to chairing the ‘question time’ panel. If the Norfolk Farming Conference audience is up to its usual, robust form then it should make for a lively and stimulating affair.”
