This week marks the launch of an excellent new initiative which will support the Norfolk Farming Community.
Farming is usually a good way of life, but with so many increased pressures, it is not surprising that many involved with agriculture will feel isolated and depressed at some time.
The “You Are Not Alone” project, initiated by the Clan Trust Charitable Trust, is dedicated to promoting mental health awareness amongst the Norfolk agricultural community.
The YANA leaflets and its website www.yanahelp.org are designed to explain the signs and symptoms of depression and to encourage those who are depressed, or those close to them, to seek appropriate help. Depression is an illness, not a weakness.
In addition, the YANA project has set up a unique “off the record” consultation service which can provide confidential advice and support with either sympathetic doctors or counsellors. This could be invaluable for those who might wish to speak to someone away from their own area. Telephone: 0845 094 8286
PLEASE HELP THE YANAPROJECT by:
· Clicking on the website www.yanahelp.org – and familiarising yourself with the signs of depression: you might be able to encourage someone you know with depression to seek appropriate help
· Sending this email on to as many people as you can who are involved with the Norfolk farming community
· Contacting YANA on 0845 094 8286 if you can distribute leaflets at your place of work or if you would like more information about the project
Thank you for your support – it will help the aims of the YANA project and could make a real difference to someone’s life.
