AF has been awarded a Youth Pledge Marque from New Anglia Local Enterprise Partnership for its commitment to supporting young people in business across the East, by offering apprenticeships and work placements as well as improving skills and offering advice.
Recognising the need to inspire the next generation of workforce as well as ensure they have the skills to perform and drive industry forward, AF has taken the lead by putting in place various initiatives to create a variety of opportunities for young people. Our continued support with Edge Careers has seen us match 560 employers with young talent, helping them gain the skills and experience that will help them in their professional lives.
Along with our Next Generation group which meets regularly to discuss and share views as well as hear from industry leading experts to encourage business development, AF takes on two placement students each year to give them the opportunity to explore and develop their skills in a working environment.
AF is incredibly proud to have been recognised for its work in encouraging and developing young people. Clarke Willis MBE, AF CEO, said “We are passionate at AF to encourage, grow and mentor the next generation and help them develop careers for the future in the food and farming industry. The NALEP Youth Pledge Marque will help us promote our activities”
